Easter Sunday!

Karsyn was a little weird about the grass, she didn't want to touch it. She got this cute little dress from her Grandma Shumway for her birthday and I decided to save it for Easter. Yellow is this little girls color. It looks great on her.

Trying hard to walk, only when she wants to though. She is getting close!

Our computer has been down and not working at all, so I haven't been able to blog or even check my email. Believe me I was going nuts. I can not live without the internet. I also have some Easter pictures coming. But must do later, got to go feed Karsyn some dinner.

St. Patricks Day last week we spent at the Zoo. It was so much fun being there with my family. We had such a good time.

I love this picture of my mom and dad, it is so cute of them.

I was so glad Adam got to go with us, he pulled up just as we were about to leave and he decided his homework could wait. And Karsyn really was so good, even though she didn't care about the animals too much, she was happy all day. Although she loved the snakes, maybe because they were at her eye level.

We also had fun with the Hatch kiddos, they were so fun.

Some of the animals, of course.

This goose or swan or whatever wit was, was funny. It lived with the flamingos. I think it believes that it is a flamingo because it also only stands on one leg.

I'm Slacking!

So I have been slacking so badly when it comes to blogging. It has just been pretty boring and nothing to exciting to blog about. Karsyn keeps getting sick and seems to can't fight anything off, right now she has got a super runny nose and a cough, no fun. Adam has been studying a lot lately. He had mid-terms last week, spring break this week for him and now we are on the countdown to graduation in May, we are so excited. Who knows where our life may lead after that. He has quite a few options and we will be making tough decisions. The nice thing about becoming a chemical engineer, there are many fields to choose from. He went to a job fair and turned in some resumes and talked to quite a few employers. Some from here, some from California, some from Utah, and a couple small towns from here. So we will see! And then there is me, I am enjoying being home with Karsyn, my calling keeps me a little busy. I work with the activity day girls and I love there energy. And they have a lot of it. They love Karsyn so much, they fight over who is holding her next. Anyways life is good right now and we are looking forward to what life brings us in the next few months.

Here are just a few pictures taken in the last two weeks.

I can put Karsyn's hair in pig tails now. This was the first attempt, so it's not totally straight, but it is soooo cute. She has such funny hair. She has a mullet. It is totally straight with a little frizz. It will be nice when it all grows in, I'm sure. She is always playing in front of my mirror that I have yet to hang up cuz she loves it.

A few weeks ago Karsyn and I went to lunch with my mom and grandma, we went to Red Robin. The Bird came out and Karsyn was so interested when we were inside and she was in her high chair, she loved him, but as we were leaving he was standing outside, she wanted nothing to do with him, as you can see she is literally pushing him away. Little Stinker!

The other night my sister-n-law Molly and her husband Joe came over and they watched Karsyn while we attended the Temple and then when we came home we watched Scarlett our niece so they could go to a movie. It worked out nicely. The cutest thing was when Scarlett conked out in the high chair. She actually started snoring. It was too cute!

Happy Birthday Great Grampa!

Today is Great Grampa Shumway's 92nd Birthday. Great Grampa Shumway is one of Karsyn's favorite people and ours too. We are lucky enough to live under the same roof with him. As most of you know we are living with Adams parents while he is in school, well grampa lives here too and it has been such a neat experience getting to know him and getting to hear the many stories that he tells. He is such an amazing person, he is living with 4 different kinds of cancers and he rarely complains. He was in the hospital recently for a week with complications and is now back home trying to enjoy the time he has here. He is pretty sick and it has been hard to watch the cancers finally start taking over. He has been so tough, a couple of months ago no one would even know that he was suffering from cancer. Karsyn really loves this man, he will come into a room and she just smiles from ear to ear. She sits next to him at dinner time and she is always trying to share her food with him. He loves babies and he gets to see so many around here, since we all have one in the Shumway family. He also suffers from short term memory loss. He can tell you stories of his childhood and stories from when he used to milk cows but anything that happened 5 minutes ago he can't recall. One of his one true loves is scrabble, it is his favorite. There is usually not a day goes by without a game of scrabble around here. The best place to sit is right after grampa because he always sets you up for the triple. One more amazing thing that he can do is spell any word you give him backwords. We would always try and give him really long ones and he would still get them right. Of course I had to be looking at the word to even know if it was right. He writes in his journal everyday, he has books and books of journals. He truly amazes me and I am so thankful that we have got to spend this last year and a half living under the same roof with him, Happy Birthday Great Grampa, may all your wishes come true!

Poor Karsyn

Wow, I am so lucky to have such a great husband. I can't believe he snuck into my blog and did that. He is the best, I couldn't ask for anything better. This week has been crazy with poor little Karsyn. She got so sick. It started on Tuesday. She acted fine during the day and she ate really good. Then that night she threw up about six times. On wednesday she threw up once in the morning and then the rest of the day she acted almost back to her old self accept she wasn't eating very well but we thought she was getting better. Then on Thursday morning she threw up again, so now I was pretty worried. I got her in to see the dr., and of course she had to throw up right before we walked in to the Dr.s office, anyways they said she caught a flu virus but were a little concerned that she was becoming dehyderated so they sent me to go get some blood taken. Karsyn was pretty sad when she had to get her blood taken, wasn't fun to watch. We stopped at the store and picked up some pedialite and some popsicles. She drank half of the pedialite took a nap and still woke up really out of it. The Dr. then called me and said her results came in and she was really dry, so I needed to take her into the ER to get an IV in her. We had to wait for Adam to get home, so I took her upstairs to visit with grandma to see if that would perk her up and I then decided to try the popsicles, she loved them. She ate a whole one then half of another one. Adam got home and we left. It was a long night. The ER was so packed with so many sick kids. Long story short they did a cathedir to check her urine and the results came in that she wasn't as bad anymore so they didn't have to do an IV, because she drank the pedialite and popsicles at home. Seven 1/2 hours later we went back home, we probably didn't even have to go, but it's one of those things where you are better to be safe then sorry. I can say now that she is about 99% to being her old happy self. It is so hard to see your child so sick, i felt so helpless. I hope that next week is a lot better.
